AN.IV.186 Umma"nga Sutta The Buddha praises a monk as being eager to learn and wise for asking the following questions:
1. Q. What influences the world (A.= intention);
2. Q. What makes someone learned? (A. = a monk who understands the teaching of the Buddha, even in a single verse);
3. Q. What makes one learned and of penetrative wisdom? (A. = One who takes a teaching such as suffering and penetrates it by insight until seeing its arising, passing, origin, cessation and path leading to cessation), and;
4. Q. What is a wise person? (A. = One who seeks neither to harm himself nor others or both alike -- thinks to do only things for benefit of self, others and both.)
