A.10_032 Dutiya Upaali Sutta What reasons are sufficiently serious to warrant cancellation of the patimokkha chanting?
Cancellation is warranted in the following ten situations: 1. a monk who has committed an offense entailing defeat (paaraajika) is in the assembly; 2. proceedings against a monk who has committed an offense entailing defeat are still in progress; 3. an unordained person is in the assembly; 4. the proceedings of identifying the person as unordained is still in progress; 5. a person who has disrobed is in the assembly; 6. the proceedings for disrobing of a person are still in progress; 7. a transvestite is in the assembly; 8. the proceedings of identifying a person as a transvestite are still in progress; 9. someone who has harmed a nun is in the assembly; 10. the proceedings for identifying a person as someone who has harmed a nun are still in progress.
