A.10_082 Aananda Sutta The following ten traits are obstacles to a monk's progress in the Dhammavinaya: 1. lack of faith; 2. lack of self-discipline; 3. lack of hearing sermons; 4. lack of sensitivity to to self-improvement; 5. association with fools; 6. laziness; 7. distractedess; 8. discontent; 9. perverse wishes; 10. wrong view.
However, monks who have the following ten virtues will prosper in the Dhammavinaya: 1. faith; 2. self-discipline; 3. learnedness; 4. remembering what learned; 5. associating with the wise; 6. striving; 7. mindfulness; 8. contentedness; 9. wishing for little, and; 10. possessing right view.
