AN.IV.223 Akata~n~nuu Sutta Those possessing the following four traits bring destruction and damage to the fool [bala] and makes him receive blame from the wise and attracts demerit to him:
1. ingratitude [akata~n~nuu]; 2. unwholesome bodily conduct [kaayaducarita];
3. unwholesome verbal conduct [vaciiducarita], and;
4. unwholesome mental conduct [manoducarita];
However, those possessing the following four virtues protects the wise one from destruction and damage, from criticism by the wise and attracts much merit to him:
1. Gratitude [kata~n~nuu]; 2. wholesome bodily conduct [kaayasucarita];
3. wholesome verbal conduct [vaciisucarita], and;
4. wholesome mental conduct [manosucarita];
