AN.IV.97 | Nisanti Sutta | The combinations of characteristics which make a monk of benefit to himself or others
are enumerated as follows -- Those who gain quick knowledge of the Dhamma, quickly
memorize the Dhamma, reflect on the Dhamma, practise the Dhamma: 1. if they aren't well spoken and are not willing to preach the Dhamma (such a person gives benefit only to himself and not to others); 2. if not well spoken but willing to preach the Dhamma (such a person gives benefit only to others and not to himself); 3. if neither well spoken nor motivated to preach the Dhamma (such a person gives neither benefit to himself nor to others), and; 4. if well spoken and willing to preach the Dhamma (such a person gives benefit both to himself and others) |
