J.512 Kumbha Jaataka The story of how a forester, Sura, accidentally discovered alcoholic drink and how with the help of his accomplice, the ascetic Varuna, he publicized his discovery, thus leading to the destruction of the whole of the Jambudipa, had Sakka not intervened to prohibit King Sabbamitta from consuming the drink.
