J.325 Godha Jaataka The bodhisatva was once born as a lizard and paid homage to a wicked ascetic living near the anthill where he dwelled. One day the villagers brought a dish of lizardís flesh to the ascetic. Being enamoured by its flavour, he planned to kill the bodhisatva, that he might taste such flesh again. The bodhisatva discovered the asceticís intention and threatened to expose the asceticís hypocrisy unless the ascetic left the hermitage. The Jataka was related in reference to a monk who was a cheat and a rogue. See also the Kuhakabrahmana Vatthu (Dh.A.iv.154ff.) 58/550 Jaataka Khuddhaka J.iii.084ff. hypocrisy
