The Buddha taught that, by being established in five qualities: 1. faith [saddha]; 2. striving; 3. mindfulness; 4. concentration, and; 5. wisdom -- six qualities can be cultivated: 1. recollection of the Buddha; 2. recollection of the Dhamma; 3. recollection of the Sa"ngha; 4. recollection of self-discipline; 5. recollection of self-sacrifice, and; 6. recollection of angels. These recollections should be cultivated while standing. walking, sitting, lying down, while applying yourself in business and even in your home in your lodging crowded with children. 38/537 Ekaadasaka Nipaata A"nguttara A.i.
