A.10_114 Dutiya Adhamma Sutta It is necessary to know what is for virtue and benefit and what is not for virtue and benefit -- and to fare onward according to what is for virtue and benefit. The following ten practices are not for virtue and benefit: 1. wrong view [micchaa di.t.thi] is not for benefit but right view [sammaa di.t.thi] is; 2. wrong intention [micchaa sa nkappa] is not for benefit but right intention [sammaa sa kappa] is; 3. wrong speech [micchaa vaacaa] is not for benefit but right speech [sammaa vaacaa] is; 4. wrong action [micchaa kammanta] is not for benefit but right action [sammaa kammanta] is; 5. wrong livelihood [micchaa aachiiva] is not for benefit but right livelihood [sammaa aachiiva] is; 6. wrong effort [micchaa vaayaama] is not for benefit but right effort [sammaa effort] is; 7. wrong mindfulness [micchaa sati] is not for benefit but right mindfulness [sammaa sati] is; 8. wrong concentration [micchaa samaadhi] is not for benefit but right concentration [sammaa samaadhi] is; 9. wrong knowledge [micchaa ~naa.na] is not for benefit but right knowledge [sammaa ~naa.na] is, and; 10. wrong liberation [micchaa vimutti] is not for benefit but right liberation [sammaa vimutti] is.
Considerable unwholesomeness will arise because of Wrong Practice, but considerable wholesomeness will arise because of Right Practice.
