A.10_060 Aabaadha Sutta Concerning the contemplations of Girimaananda when ill. Ananda invited the Buddha to visit Girimaananda who was on his sickbed with a high fever. Instead the Buddha taught Ananda ten contemplations to be repeated to Girimaananda (with explanation): contemplation of: 1. impermanence [aniccasa~n~naa]; 2. not-self [anattaasa~n~naa]; 3. loathesomeness [asubhasa~n~naa]; 4. danger in various things [aadiinavasa~n~naa]; 5. abandoning [pahaanasa~n~naa]; 6. fading interest [viraagasa~n~naa]; 7.. extinction [nirodhasa~n~naa]; 8. distaste for all the world [sabbalokeanabhiratasa~n~naa]; 9. the impermanence of all the world [sabbasa nkhaaresu-aniccaasa~n~naa], and; 10. mindfulness of breathing [aanaapaanassati]. 38/190 Dasaka Nipaata, Dutiya Pa.n.naasaka A"nguttara A.i.
