A.10_019 Pa.thama Ariyavasa Sutta The ten virtues which are the abiding of the noble ones are enumerated as follows: 1. avoiding the five hindrances; 2. not being moved by the six senses but considering them with mindfulness and clear comprehension; 3. keeping mindfulness; 4. resting in four virtues (consuming, being patient of, abstaining from and reducing things with consideration); 5. release from redundant questioning (paccekasacca); 6. searching after release from searching (searching on the Brahma-faring after release from searching for sensuality and becoming); 7. non-clouded (non sensual, vengeful or aggressive) intention; 8. peacefulness of body (achieving of the four absorptions); 9. liberated mind (liberated from greed, hatred and delusion), and; 10. liberating wisdom (knowing one has removed, uprooted and there will be no more greed, hate and delusion). 38/048 Dasaka Nipaata, Pa.thama Pa.n.naasaka A"nguttara A.i.
