AN.VII.36 Dutiya Sakhaa Sutta A monk with the following seven qualities will make a worthy friend. He is: 1. endearing [piyo]; 2. worthy of respect [garu]; 3. praiseworthy [bhaavaniiyo]; 4. artful in speech [vatta ca]; 5. tolerant of others' words [vacanakkhamo]; 6. profound in speech [gambhiira~nca katha.m kattaa], and; 7. who doesn't persuade others into unwholesomeness [no ca.t.thaane niyojaye].
