AN.VII.5 Pa.thama Dhana Sutta The seven "endowments" are enumerated as:
1. faith;
2. self-discipline;
3. shame of evil [hiri];
4. fear of the consequences of evil;
5. listening (to teachings) [suta];
6. self-sacrifice [caaga], and;
7. wisdom.
Those endowed with these virtues, whether male or female, the wise say that such a person is not poor, their life is not empty of usefulness -- thus a person of wisdom, who recollects the Buddha's words should cultivate faith, self-discipline, tranquility [passadhi], making himself faithful and seeing the Dhamma.
