AN.VII.1 Pa.thama Appiya Sutta Monks with the following seven traits will not be endearing, will be unsatisfactory, will not command the respect and praise of others: 1. those who search for wealth; 2. those who search for honour; 3. those who search for fame; 4. those who lack shame of evil [hiri]; 5. those who lack fear of the consequences of evil [ottappa]; 6. those with evil wishes, and; 7. those of wrong view. However, a monk with the opposite qualities will be endearing, satisfactory and command respect and praise 37/001 Sattaka Nipaata, Pa.thamapa.n.naasaka A"nguttara A.iv.
