AN.IV.257 Dutiya Aajaaniiya Sutta Compares the qualities of a thoroughbred steed with the qualities of a monk. Just as a thoroughbred steed is possessed of:
1. beauty [va.n.na], a monk is possessed of self-discipline [siila];
2. strength, a monk is possessed of striving in wholesome deeds;
3. speed, a monk is possessed of destruction of the defilements and can attain absorptions [jhaana] 1-4, and;
4. good proportions, a monk is possessed of the Four Requisites.
