AN.IV.226 Pa.thama Vohaarapatha Sutta Those possessing the following four traits bring destruction and damage to the fool [bala] and makes him receive blame from the wise and attracts demerit to him:
1. claiming to have seen what one has not seen;
2. claiming to have heard what one has not heard;
3. claiming to have sensed what one has not sensed, and;
4. claiming to have known what one has not known.
However, those possessing the following four virtues protects the wise one from destruction and damage, from criticism by the wise and attracts much merit to him:
1. claiming to have seen what one has really seen;
2. claiming to have heard what one has really heard;
3. claiming to have sensed what one has really sensed, and;
4. claiming to have known what one has really known.
