AN.IV.217 Pa.thama Vohaarapatha Sutta The following are modes of speech which are ignoble [anariyavohaara]:
1. claiming to have seen what one has not seen;
2. claiming to have heard what one has not heard;
3. claiming to have sensed what one has not sensed, and;
4. claiming to have known what one has not known.
By contrast, the following are modes of speech which are noble [ariyavohaara]:
1. claiming to have seen what one has really seen;
2. claiming to have heard what one has really heard;
3. claiming to have sensed what one has really sensed, and;
4. claiming to have known what one has really known.
