AN.IV.178 Jambaalii Sutta The following four sorts of person are enumerated:
1. Those have attained liberation of mind [cetovimutti] but having not yet overcome false view [sakkayanirodha] can be compared to a person whose hand sticks to a branch when they hold it because their hand is covered in sticky resin;
2. Those who have attained liberation of mind and overcome false self-view can be compared to those who hold onto a branch with a clean hand;
3. Those who have attained liberation of mind but who have not yet overcome ignorance [avijjaa] compared to a lage pool to which the inlets and the outlets are sealed and without rain, although the water will not drain away, even after many years, without rain it will never be filled to the point of overflowing, and;
4. Those who have attained liberation of mind and who have overcome all ignorance, compared to a large pool to which the outlets are sealed but the inlets are opened and for which the rain falls according to season -- such a pool will probably be filled to the point of overflowing.
