|AN.IV.160||Sugata Sutta||For as long as the Sadhamma still exists in the world, humans and angels will receive great benefit. Four reasons for the deterioration and disappearance of the Saddhamma are as follows: |
1. learning and perpetuating Suttas which are already distorted from the original;
2. not being open to criticism, being impatient and disrespectful in the face of criticism;
3. studying the Dhamma but not passing it on to others, and;
4. being an elder who is materially possessive, lax and doesn't strive earnestly for the highest Dhamma.
However, if the opposite is true, the Dhamma will be long-lasting.
